TAIMUN 12th Press 2014
Taiwan Model United Nations

After months of preparation and anticipation, all the toils and hopes of all the participants culminated during these two fleeting days. Some delegates found that the conference met their expectations, some found it lacking in certain aspects, while others found an experience that exceeded by far what they thought the conference would be like.
“This is my last conference, so I am hoping to see a lot of people I know, gain a lot of experience, and better understand how everything works. “ Chris Hsu (HIS), the delegate of India in the Environment Committee.
Fabien Chu (AST), the delegate of the United States of America, hoped for “ fruitful debates and creative resolutions.”
I expected nothing”, said Isabel Yun-Ru (IBSH), the delegate of Albania of the Environment Committee. delegate of Albania, reflecting the viewpoints of the delegates who came into the conference with an open perspective, ready to experience anything and everything.
Vivian Cheng (IBST), the delegate of Spain, originally believed that the conference would be” intense and intimidating, since this was my 1st TAIMUN conference. In reality, thought, it was pretty laid back, but everything was very organized and I was impressed by the amount of knowledge that everyone had about the issues at hand.”
The chairs of the WHO Committee, Civia Chen (IBST) and Jocelyn Loo (AST), said that they “ expected to be entertained.” They also noted that they failed to finish one resolution by 2 because of the slight delay before the conference, which was not something they hoped would happen.
On the other hand, the Co-Chair of the Human Rights Council, Noah Lin (AST), noted that although “ I did not expect that the opening speeches would take so long, we managed to approve two out of three resolutions in one hour.”
A teacher from the AST faculty, Carol Linder, and the AST School Counselor, Vicky Leasare, commented, “ We set our sights quite high for the conference. After all, this conference represents our school, so we had very high hopes for it. We were very excited to showcase our new campus. Seeing the kids walking around, though, I feel like they are very professional. The massive number of resolutions that came in was surprising, though.”
